Eau Thermale Avène Cold Cream Lip Cream

Dia daoibh!

Avène. Heard of it? It's a French Skincare brand highly focused and centered around Avène Thermal Spring Water and it's soothing properties.

"Very low mineralised, rich in silica and trace elements, the Avène Thermal Spring Water has been clinically proven to be naturally soothing, anti-irritating and anti-free radical."

So, if you're into your natural, soothing, dermatological goodies, this brand in particular may interest you.

I was actually sent a lip product, their  Eau Thermale Avène Cold Cream Lip cream . This could not have come at a better time, (about 2 weeks ago) as the weather was cold and I myself had a touch of the flu and was feeling run down. My lips were very dry. Here it is.

Very simple and clean looking packaging. Here's some
wordy info on the product itself:

Eau Thermale Avène Cold Cream Lip cream fast acting dermo-cosmetic formulation contains a selection of key ingredients, carefully selected for an extremely targeted effect; Avène Thermal Spring Water soothes and hydrates, powerful emollients soothe while repairing agents heal damaged lips quickly with long lasting action.

è Effectively soothes lips
Naturally anti-irritating, Avène Thermal Spring Water provides an immediate soothing action.

è Restructures and protects the lips
This combination of highly nutritive and emollient key ingredients (Cold cream, shea butter, vitamin F) helps to deeply restructure the most damaged lips.  Their effectiveness is ensured by mimetic similarities with the skin’s components.  A protective film forms around the lips while its “insulating” filmogenic effect guarantees long lasting results.
è Repairs the lips
Sucralfate present in the Cold Cream is known for its repairing qualities and quickly works to repair damaged and fragile lip skin.

è Ensures long-lasting protection
Remanence ingredient promotes a long-lasting effect.

Usage: Eau Thermale Avène Cold Cream Lip cream may be applied as often as necessary and even under lipstick as it has a colourless formulation.

What I think?

It works. It's as simple as that. Here is my proof:

It took two days for my lips to go from one to the other. As you can see, my lips were indeed very tight, dry and flaky looking. When I applied the lip cream there was immediate relief. It's not sticky in the least. It has quite a smooth almost creamy consistency. It has a slight scent. I would describe it as having a..... baby smell! Yano, like baby wipes, baby powder, that kind of smell! It's thick and colour-less:

Rarely has a product worked this fast for me when they are so dehydrated so I was genuinely surprised at the quick results. Eau Thermale Avène Cold Cream Lip Cream retails at €10.17 for 15ml. It is on the pricier side, but personally when it comes to my lips aching for some relief, I would be willing to spend that! It should be available in various pharmacies in Ireland but if there is a Unicare near you, have a look there first.

This product was sent to me for free from Avéne's PR Team for reviewing purposes. All opinions above are completely my own, 100% honest thoughts on the product.
